Weekend Mirths: Underwater World

Jeff and I visited Underwater World right after we were married.  This same tank that now holds an eel once held an enormous rock lobster that I will forever remember wanting to eat, but being told that I couldn't by a very nice, and very informative, Natalie- Underwater World worker extraordinaire.

This picture is from the elevator down to the lower level. Apparently, cat burglars like to bring their children to Underwater World, too.

{look, preggers sea horses!}

Taking Sawyer to the Mall of America to see the "fissies" has been one of our favorite family activities this summer.  He presses his face against the glass or scrambles up Jeff to touch the top of the water tunnel when the fish and sharks swim overhead.  This time, he even leaned in to kiss the sea turtle!  We bought a season pass so we'd never have to slow him down as he rushes from one tank to the next, and it helps knowing that we can go right back through when he's done and do it over again, or just come back next week to rip off that one starfish in the tide pool that escaped him.

We also take the opportunity to double-dip on little man's favorite activities, and we spend some time watching "naaaaanes" take off and land at the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport.  Then we look on as the "tra- ers," or tractors, move dirt around the construction site nearby. Saturdays are best spent as Sawyer days.
