Yours, Mine, and Ours

Your daddy's ears, broad shoulders, strong brow, monkey feet, and handsome dimpled chin.

My eyes, nose, slightly red-tinged hair, and pert lips.

All our love.

Introducing our lucky boy, Sawyer Jefferson.

Baby Boom

My nesting instinct has hit hard this past week as I constantly feel this great urge to get all my ducks in a row, and to get all the baby's duckies lined up too. This has led to lots of crafting, organizing, cleaning, sewing, washing, folding, painting, and arranging. I'm pretty much driving Jeff crazy with all of the messes I make and projects I start, but I feel as though we are finally ready.

Now, the waiting game begins.

Krista's 25th

Dear Sister-

Today you are a quarter of a century old! Our only wish on your birthday is that we could spend it with you, and instead of waiting around for the birthday fairy to make our wish come true, we took matters into our own hands. We love you so much. You are a most amazing sister, friend, example, and new mother.

In case you're wondering, for your birthday cake I baked exactly what I would have wanted, and I hope in doing so that I wasn't too far off what you would have enjoyed (I flatter myself and think you would be quite pleased, we are after all, sisters). I'll enjoy your funfetti cake with fresh strawberry buttercream and rainbow nonpareils while I reflect on what a delicious privilege it is to be your sister.

Love from all of us.
Happy to you Precious.

37 weeks

This blog has been all baby lately, so sorry if you're looking for something else :)-but this is a reflection of our lives each day now too. We are making ready the nest, and so every to do list has some sort of baby errand/craft/project/ or related cleaning on it. Jeffrey can't believe how clean the house is-I'm reveling in it's squeaky-cleanliness- and just about everything has been sorted or organized.

Jeff has been incredible and amazingly helpful in getting things ready and in keeping me steady and focused on the important things. He's going to be a wonderful father, and we both can't stop talking about this next (big) step we're taking together. As the baby grows more and more and as the due date draws ever closer, we feel the reality of the decision we have made to bring a beautiful soul to life. Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the responsibility, and at other times I feel like all together, we three will take on the world.

Anxiously waiting, there are only three weeks to go...
